Job Description

Weave (YC W25) is building the definitive platform for understanding and improving how engineering teams work. We believe the way engineering output is measured today is fundamentally broken and that modern AI can give teams a far more accurate and actionable view of productivity, impact and collaboration. Trusted by 200+ customers such as Robinhood, Rho, PostHog and Browserbase, we've delivered consistent double-digit month-over-month revenue growth since May and are looking to accelerate our growth. As Weave's Founding Growth Engineer, your job is to make sure every engineer who hears about Weave ends up using it. You'll own the self-serve funnel end to end, from the first visit to the website to the moment a team is hooked, and you'll build the systems that turn that funnel into pipeline for sales. We've raised a $13.5 million Series A and are backed by Standard Capital, YCombinator, Moonfire, Burst Capital, IrregEx and the Agent Fund. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor and shape how millions of engineers and leaders understand engineering work. WHAT WE'RE BUILDING Weave is rethinking engineering output from first principles. We use AI to: Understand how engineers actually work (not just what they ship) Surface meaningful insights about productivity, quality, collaboration and impact Help teams improve outcomes without vanity metrics or surveillance Our goal is not to optimize for "more output," but for better engineering. THE TEAM YOU'LL WORK WITH You'll work directly with: Andrew (CTO) – previously a founding engineer at Causal, MIT alum. Andrew has been in your shoes and is deeply committed to providing the mentorship, ownership and growth he had as an early engineer. Adam (CEO) – leads sales and customer discovery. Adam is a former sales executive at multiple high-growth startups and deeply embedded with customers and scaled multiple sales teams from $0-30M in ARR. This is a small, intense, highly collaborative team. You will have real ownership from day one. THE ROLE This isn't a traditional growth role and we're not looking for a growth operator who can write a little SQL. The closest thing we can describe it as is a mashup of full-stack engineer, growth PM, data analyst and marketer. Today Weave grows because the product is good and the sales team is relentless. Engineers hear about us, install Weave or the Weave Router, and tell their teams. Your job is to turn that into a machine: a website that converts, a signup that takes minutes, onboarding that gets a team to their first real insight fast, and the data to know which of those teams sales should call today. You'll sit on the GTM team, write production code every week and be measured on one thing: how many engineering teams start using Weave and stick. Not on assisting someone else's strategy, not on optimizing a slice of a funnel, but on the whole funnel, end to end. If you've been waiting for the role where you actually get the keys, this is it. RESPONSIBILITIES Own the funnel end to end. Website, signup, onboarding, activation, expansion. You decide what to fix first, you fix it and you report on whether the number moved. Build the website like a product. Landing pages, pricing, programmatic SEO pages, interactive demos, the docs entry points. Ship, measure, iterate. No waiting on an agency. Make onboarding take minutes. Own the signup and first-run experience for Weave and the Weave Router: connecting a repo, installing the router, getting to the first insight a team actually cares about. Find where people drop off and fix it in the product code. Run the experimentation engine. Build the A/B testing, feature-flag and event-tracking infrastructure, then use it. Real hypotheses, clean experiments, honest readouts. Kill what doesn't work, double down on what does. Build the growth data stack. Attribution, product-qualified lead scoring, CRM sync. Sales should know which self-serve teams are ready for a conversation before those teams do. Automate lifecycle. Email and in-product sequences triggered off what a team actually does in Weave, from signup to activation to expansion. Partner across the team. Product engineering on in-product surfaces, our Founding Marketer on launches and content, our Founding GTM Engineer and AEs on the handoff from self-serve to sales. Be flexible: some days you're rewriting a signup flow in React, others you're building a programmatic SEO pipeline, debugging attribution or pulling the numbers on last week's experiment. We're inventing the function as we go. QUALIFICATIONS MUST-HAVE You're an engineer first. You've shipped production code across the stack and you still write it every week. You can build the experiment, not just propose it. You've grown something and can show us the receipts. A funnel you owned, a signup flow you rebuilt, a programmatic SEO play that worked. Not "we grew while I was there." You know which of your changes moved the number and why. You think in funnels and cohorts. You're fluent in SQL and product analytics, you know the difference between a metric that moves and a metric that matters, and you design experiments that can actually fail. You have product taste. Growth at Weave means making the product easier to want, not adding dark patterns. You can tell the difference and you'll push back when we can't. You move fast and own outcomes. You don't wait for a brief. You find the biggest leak in the funnel, fix it and report on what happened. You care about developer tools. Our users are engineers. You know what they read, what they trust and what makes them close the tab. This role is 5 days in office in SF NICE-TO-HAVE Prior growth engineering, PLG or self-serve role at a developer tools, AI/ML or infrastructure company You've helped take a sales-led company self-serve, or a self-serve company upmarket Hands-on with the growth stack: product analytics, feature flags, CRM, lifecycle email and SEO tooling Our tech stack is React + TypeScript on the frontend, Go on the backend, and Python for ML. Experience with any of those is a bonus. You've run your own side project, newsletter or product that grew on the strength of the work Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B), even if it wasn't a growth role WHY JOIN Competitive pay + early equity Health/vision/dental insurance covered Free lunch/dinners/snacks Yearly team offsite with regular team events Yearly $500 learning/development stipend Get to work in SF with one of the fastest moving teams (95%+ percentile code output) ABOUT THE INTERVIEW 15-minute intro call 30-minute interview with our CEO, Adam 30-minute technical interview with our CTO, Andrew and a GTM Engineer 45-minute interview with our CEO, Adam 3-5 day paid work trial
