Together, we are shaping the future of connected cardiac care and changing lives every single day Come for a job, stay for a career! ---------------------------------------- As a Senior Software Engineer on the Catalyst Team within Medtronic Patient Care Systems (PCS), you will provide technical leadership in advancing software verification, test automation, and DevOps capabilities that support our connected cardiac care ecosystem. The Catalyst team develops and enhances test automation and tooling solutions leveraging technologies such as Appium and internal frameworks to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and scalability across the CRM software ecosystem. In this role, you will design and build scalable automation frameworks, influence engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with R&D, software engineering, and quality partners to improve software quality, delivery predictability, and compliance in a regulated medical device environment. A Day in The Life Of: ------------------------- Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software solutions across a range of domains, including libraries and developer tools. Develop and maintain libraries and developer tools that support software verification. Partner with R&D and quality teams to translate technical needs into maintainable software solutions. Improve the usability, reliability, performance, and compatibility of libraries and tools. Support the integration, validation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of the team’s software products. Create and maintain technical documentation, usage examples, and integration guidance. Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a collaborative, learning focused team environment. Senior-Level Expectations Leadership & Influence Contribute to technical decisions involving library design, developer tooling, and engineering practices. Partner with users and stakeholders to understand their underlying needs and translate them into practical, maintainable solutions. Use technical judgment to balance user flexibility with consistency, long-term supportability, and safeguards against unintended use. Provide technical guidance and support to peers, users of the team's software, and project partners. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams and leadership in a matrixed organization. Technical Depth & Innovation Design solutions that meet varied user and business needs while promoting consistent and reliable use. Evolve solutions while maintaining compatibility across varied projects, configurations, and environments. Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on users, dependent systems, and existing integrations, and provide appropriate compatibility or migration paths. Apply software architecture and design principles to develop reliable and maintainable libraries and tools. Leverage AI tools and agents to support code development, refactoring, analysis, and troubleshooting. Key Skills & Experience Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering. Significant professional experience designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining software across the development lifecycle, using C# or a comparable strongly typed, object-oriented language such as Java or C++. Preferred Qualifications While not required familiarity with one or more of the following will provide a strong foundation for success: Experience developing software libraries, APIs, developer tools , or shared software components. Proficiency with C# and .NET. Experience with the Document Object Model (DOM) and JavaScript. Experience with Appium or similar technologies for programmatically interacting with applications, particularly hybrid iOS applications. Experience working with the Apple development ecosystem, including iOS, macOS, Xcode , application signing, provisioning, and deployment. Exposure to software and system-level testing and test automation concepts . Familiarity with regulated product development and standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and 21 CFR 820. Experience with Agile methodologies. Experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
