The Role Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of complex software solutions. Own significant product components, modules, or workstreams. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers. Review architecture, code, design artifacts, and technical deliverables. Lead root-cause analysis and complex troubleshooting activities. Drive engineering best practices and quality standards. Support product releases and engineering readiness activities. Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Support, and Customer Experience teams. Lead automation, performance improvement, and scalability initiatives. Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and capability development activities. Contribute to technical roadmap execution and engineering innovation. Preferred Technical Skills Strong expertise in one or more: Embedded Systems VxWorks Wind River Linux BSPs and Device Drivers Linux Kernel Development Kubernetes OpenStack Distributed Cloud Virtualization Hypervisors Cloud Platform Engineering Networking Security DevOps and CI/CD Automation Frameworks Performance Optimization System Integration and Debugging Required Experience 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience. Demonstrated ownership of complex technical deliverables. Experience mentoring and coaching engineers. Strong system-level troubleshooting and debugging skills. Experience working across geographically distributed engineering teams. Proven ability to lead technical discussions and reviews. Leadership Expectations Provide technical guidance to team members. Influence engineering decisions within assigned workstreams. Drive knowledge sharing and documentation. Support workforce readiness and onboarding efforts. Reduce single points of failure through mentoring and cross-training. Success Measures Technical delivery quality Component ownership effectiveness Release readiness Defect reduction Mentoring impact Architecture and design contribution Engineering productivity and innovation Who You Are Required skills and experience •Experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects. •Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, .Net etc.) with debugging and problem-solving skills. •Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software. •Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services. •Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues. •Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns. Preferred skills and experience •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. •Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl. •Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
